Original period colour, mirror finish. Dedicated booth, proper times.

Primers, minimal fillers, paint in the car's original period colour, mirror finish. Drying times, stratigraphy and booth temperatures are respected. The colour isn't picked from a swatch book: it's rebuilt from the car's period documents.

What we do

04 · The last word

  • 01Reconstruction of the original period colour
  • 02Primers and fillers kept to the minimum
  • 03Full drying between coats
  • 04Final mirror polish
Principles

Paint is the last word of the restoration: it closes everything that was done underneath. That is why we give it time. The booth is dedicated, the colour is rebuilt from period documents, and final polish only arrives after weeks of full drying. No shortcuts, no premature gloss.

"Paint doesn't forgive. All the work you did underneath shows there."

    Period-correct colour

We start from the original codes and period documents, not from a modern swatch.

  • — principio
    Minimal fillers

Paint does not hide bad metalwork. Do the metal well first, then paint.

  • — principio
    Proper times

Full drying between coats. Speed is the enemy of depth.

Method, step by step
  1. 01Colour research

Identification of the original code, sample swatches, validation with the owner.

  2. 02Primers

Epoxy primers, calibrated fillers, progressive sanding to a perfect substrate.

  3. 03Painting

Base and colour coats in a dedicated booth, controlled temperature, flash times respected.

  4. 04Drying

Weeks of rest. A paint polished too early loses depth over time.

  5. 05Final polish

Fine wet sanding, progressive polishing with calibrated pastes, mirror finish.

Frequent questions
Can a different colour be applied?
Technically yes, but we advise against it: a classic outside its original colour loses value and coherence. When requested we document it.
Do you paint a single zone only?
Yes, when it makes sense. Be aware that partial paint must be blended, and can sometimes cost more than a full repaint.
How long does proper paint last?
Decades with correct storage. Gloss is restored with periodic polishing.
