Concours d'Elegance preparation

Concours-level: every detail prepared to be judged from twenty centimetres away.

When a car must present at a concours d'elegance, every detail is finished to be judged at close range: chrome, hidden finishes, engine bay, body details. No shortcuts, no appearances: only correct work, even in the places the judges won't see.

Cars in this chapter

A concours d'elegance is the toughest stage for a restorer. The jury looks from twenty centimetres, opens the bonnet, lifts the carpet, inspects the head of a screw. That is why we prepare cars to be correct everywhere, including where they won't be looked at. It is our form of discipline.

"A concours is won in the details the jury didn't expect to find right."
